When the opportunity to review a Juppy baby walker came my way, I immediately thought of our friends Kevin and Christine. My kids both started working early and I never had a chance to try a baby walker, but I thought this might be helpful to them. Read on to see what they had to say about their issue and this product:
Our daughter Colleen is 19 months old and does not walk on her own yet and we are extremely concerned. So when the juppy was offered to us with the hopes of assisting her to walk we were excited to give it a try. However we did wait until she was evaluated with early childhood intervention and they said that it really will have no impact with her walking but will make it a lot easier on our backs as we don’t have to bend over so far.
So we tried it anyway and thought that it was great for our backs but also that she no longer needed to walk with her arms extended over her head. As we walked around the house she became so excited and we thought it might be a great opportunity to let her go and she actually stood in place on her own for the first time. I repeated this and she stood three times on her own again. The standing for her was the biggest benefit it did not help to control her balance as she sways all over due to it being so poor. And since the straps are so long they caused us a great concern because they almost got wrapped around her neck.
To get to the point of our review this product is really great we feel if your child has fairly good to excellent balance. As stated our daughter does have poor balance due to weak muscles according to doctors but we don’t give up and still try using the juppy hoping her balance will improve over time and we can keep her at arms length.
The Juppy is the only baby walker that fits in a purse! It’s available in blue, yellow or pink and costs $29.99. The people at Juppy have generously offered to give one lucky person The Juppy in light blue!
