Before Emma came along, Kevin and I used to leave out puzzles on a table in the living room. When we felt like it, we’d plop down and do a few pieces here and there until it was done. We thought, that was fun, so now what do we do? Buy another one?
Well forget that, because Hasbro has come up with an even better idea. The company that brings us so many fun toys and games for families to enjoy has created a puzzle system like no other.
With the Ji Ga Zo Puzzle, you’re the designer. Choose a photo of a family member, pet, or your favorite celebrity to star in your puzzle.
How does it work?
The game includes CD-Rom software that you download onto your computer. Once you select your image and upload it into the program, you can adjust the cropping and contrast. You’re shown a preview of how your puzzle will look when done.
Once you’re happy, you print out the puzzle map of symbols and colors that Ji Ga Zo provides. You have to have color ink in order to print the map so that you can find the puzzle pieces that will form your custom sepia-tone puzzle. With this puzzle you have to pay attention not only to the symbols and colors, but the direction that you have to place each piece, to make your custom image.
Emma’s favorite part was helping me punch out all of the little pieces, and she was better at it than I was! I’m still putting together my puzzle, and having a lot of fun doing it.
Puzzles are a great way to exercise your mind while bonding as a family. With Ji Ga Zo, the options are endless. You can change it up as often as you like by printing out a new map.
The Ji Ga Zo Puzzle is for ages 8 and up. Retail price: $24.99
