Izzie n Friends Girl’s Dresses (Review & Giveaway)

By Heather

izzielogoContest Closed
I’ve mentioned that I was an art major in college, and one of the many projects I worked on while in school was creating batiks.  It was only a one-time deal, but I’ve been wanting to try it again ever since.  The art of batik is by no means easy, which is why I have a greater appreciation for the entire batik line at Izzie n Friends.

izzietradOf course, there are other types of gorgeous dresses offered at Izzie n Friends.  I just love adore the traditional smocked dresses with the Peter Pan collars. They’re so sweet and innocent, just like (most) children.  The classic styles bring back memories for many of us.  They’re the dresses we wore as toddlers, and this is classic elegance that might not be always the trendiest, but will never go out of style.

The sweet floral prints only add to the cute factor.  These are the dresses you’ll want to have your daughter photographed in for special occasions and portraits.

Most of the hand-smocked dresses have hand-embroidered flowers and embellishments.  They are truly magnificent.  The company’s namesake, Izzie models all of the girl’s garments (there are tunic tops too).  Isn’t she gorgeous?

izzie1 But when I got a look at these hand-painted beauties, I could think of no other options.  From the Maya’s Pink Surprise collection, I selected the Simple and Stunning dress for Emma.  And005 that’s exactly what it is.  Understated beauty.  The dress itself is simple and straightforward, but the fabric stands out as a work of art in and of itself.

I can’t even count the number of compliments we’ve received on this dress.  Can’t you see why?  It really is stunning.  With the hand-painted/dyed fabric, I was a little worried about the dye possibly leaking in the washer and fabric fading.  The dress has been worn and washed a handful of times and we had no problems whatsoever.  It’s not only art, it’s wearable, washable and most importantly—kid (and mom) friendly!
