When we were galavanting all over Walt Disney World in February, Emma was complaining that here legs were tired. At 9am, the moment we entered the park. It was clear to me that she obviously is not getting enough exercise, and that’s something that’s got to change. For her, for me, and the rest of the family. Physical fitness is so important, especially in this day and age frought with technology. Remember when playing with your friends meant running around outside until dark?
Now that the weather has finally gotten warm, we are getting back to walking around the neighborhood. We are going to start small, and start with half of the loop, and then once we have become more physically fit, we will begin walking the entire neighborhood which is just over two miles.
I like having a goal in mind for all of us and the ability to track and see our progress. The ibitz™ by GeoPalz® is a wireless pedometer that, when connected with a free app will track steps, distance, weight, height, overall phsyical activity and BMI. This is encouraging enough for me, in my weight loss journey, but kids need a little more encouragement. That’s why the ibitz™ for kids will sync up to a rewards app. You choose the reward, whether it’s a new toy, play date, or special trip. They can even earn coins and content on Disney’s Club Penguin™. Emma loves playing games on the iPad and I love that the more exercise she gets, she will get unlock more games to play. At this point, I have to incentivize.
Both versions are offered in 7 fun colors. They clip easily to your clothing or shoes and sync with apple devices. Compared to other pedometers out there, the ibitz™ devices are much more reasonable in price. It would be nice if they showed some information on the device itself, but I’m always within a few feet of my phone, so I don’t think this will be an issue for me! Find them at Best Buy – the kids ibitz™ is currently on sale!

I absolutely love this! Thanks for bringing it to my attention, I think involving technology can sometimes help with trying to get away from the bad effects of it, like with the kids ibitz.
