The lucky winner is Margaret!
Kids love scooters, and I see the neighbors’ kids riding around on the electric ones all the time, which is unfortunate because they’re not really getting much exercise that way. I was excited to see the scooters by Rockboard, which are like nothing you’ve ever seen.
What you get with Rockboard is two scooters in one. You can opt to use it as a kick scooter, or enjoy the nifty Rockboard Propulsion Technology with allows you rock yourself into motion. The latter seems like a much better workout to me. There are two models to choose from, the original which holds up to 200 lbs. and is recommended for age 8+, or the mini which has a maximum weight limit of 90 lbs and made for kids age 5+.
When our Rockboard mini arrived, there really wasn’t much to do as far as assembly. That was nice, as we had set aside an hour to get it set up. Not necessary. Phew! This fact alone makes it an excellent idea for Christmas.
Emma is a novice now; she’s never used any type of scooter before, so we are just using it as a kick scooter to start. This is how the Rockboard Propulsion Technology works:
I suspect that with some practice and lots of padding, she’ll be a pro by next summer. For now, she needs a lot of help as she learns how to balance and ride at the same time. The breaks work great, and the steering is right on.
Both Rockboard models include a useful kickstand. A great alternative to throwing your scooter on the ground.
They also fold completely, by turning the black knob I’m pointing to here, which is ideal for storage. Rockboard really thought of everything here! I may just have to try the original Rockboard so that I can keep up with Emma next summer.
BUY IT! Rockboard scooters are available at Target.com, ToysRUs.com, and hundreds of other online stores.
