This year has been busy. The fact that it’s October already really blows my mind. Last week I finally purchased Ryan’s Halloween costume, but I hadn’t come across an outfit for Emma. She had told me she wants to be a witch, but I couldn’t find anything I liked in stores.
We’re just about mid-month here and I was starting to stress because if you wait too long to snatch one up, the good costumes are always all gone. At least in my experience. Luckily I found one on Oriental Trading last week and it came quickly.
We decided on the Witch Goth Maiden Girl’s Costume. It’s perfect for my 5-year-old., because I think it looks more sweet than scary. She tried it on for me after school and she absolutely loved it. It includes the fun witch hat that was a must for me because you can’t have a witch costume without it.
To complete the costume I decided on the Classic Witches’ Broom. It’s only $5 and can be used for decor too.
I can’t shop Oriental Trading without looking for some fun Halloween decor. Since my kids and most children in our neighborhood are fairly young, I didn’t want to go to spooky but I did have my eye on the bag of bones and the tombstones. Ultimately I decided on the Hairy Spider with LED Eyes – just the right amount of creepy for our doorstep.
The Realistic Sticky Brains would make a fun party favor but I have other plans for these. Stay tuned for an easy, fun craft tutorial!

We have several items we ordered from Oriental Trading. I love that they make decorating affordable. I love that spider, wanted it but my youngest freaks out over spiders – even fake ones.

That tarantula looks adorable. I used to play with tarantulas when I was a kid – they were all over our yard.
