The founder of Granola Gourmet™ is Jeff Cohen, a diabetic who created the products out of frustration at not being able to find healthy wholesome snacks with a low glycemic index.
Granola Gourmet™ Energy Bars are handmade in California. They contain 10-13g Whole Grains and 391-590mg Omega-3’s. For those with other dietary requirements, the Energy Bars are free of wheat and dairy, low sodium(15- 35mg), and are kosher, vegetarian & vegan and non gmo.
I’m not a diabetic or a vegan, but I do get a sweet tooth after meals and energy or granola bars are a healthy way to satisfy the craving and the hunger. I received the following flavors from their individually wrapped collection:
Ultimate Berry
Ultimate Fudge Brownie
Ultimate Mocha Fudge
Ultimate Cran-Orange
I really liked the taste of the bars that I tried. My favorite was the mocha fudge. It was sweet and chocolaty with crunchy oats inside. My husband tried the Cran-Orange and didn’t care for it. The bars are rather small too, and with 6 grams of fat they do not fit into my current diet plan. I think they’d be great for highly active individuals like runners or weight lifters.
