We love Elephant & Piggie at my house, and were so excited to partner with Disney-Hyperion on a sponsored post to celebrate 10 years of the series!
We read often around here, and one of our favorite easy reader book series is Elephant & Piggie. These two sweet characters are the best of friends who teach our young ones what being a good friend is all about. As is the norm with Mo Willems, the books are lots of fun and engage young readers in a way that other authors can’t.
These are our top 10 Faves:

Waiting Is Not Easy!
Should I Share My Ice Cream?
I Broke My Trunk!
We Are In a Book!
My New Friend is So Fun!

There Is a Bird On Your Head!
Waiting is not Easy!
To celebrate 10 years of fun with Elephant & Piggie and friendship in general we hosted an equally awesome playdate. Provided was an assortment of Elephant & Piggie books and the newest release in the Elephant and Piggie Like Reading! series, The Good for Nothing Button by Charise Mericle Harper.
The Good for Nothing Button By Charise Mericle Harper was just released on May 2nd and is perfect for readers age 4-8. Red Bird and Blue Bird are excited to try the button. But when they press it, they discover that the button makes them happy. Happy is something! A flabbergasted Yellow Bird insists the button does nothing. But it sure does seem to be making him mad. Mad is something!
The hilarious debate that follows takes readers on an emotional roller coaster that pokes at the power of imaginative play. Other books in the series include The Cookie Fiasco by Dan Santat (2016), We Are Growing! by Laurie Keller (2016), The Good for Nothing Button by Charise Mericle Harper (2017).
We lucked out with a beautiful not-too-hot sunny day. It also happened to be national donut day so we served up all different kinds of donuts and treats and the kids had plenty of energy to run around and play. They couldn’t resist taking a few reading breaks in between.
Elephant & Piggie does friendship like no other series and we did not disappoint by celebrating with a super fun play date with friends. We had such a great time!
