Have you started holiday shopping for your kids yet? Christmas is a little over a month away, and I am personally feeling daunted by the process already. There are SO many choices out there and when I feel overwhelmed by too many choices, I leave the store empty-handed.
I’ve vowed to do more of my shopping online going forward. It’s much easier to shop and conceal that way, and I can really take my time figuring out what the kids would like. Emma is pretty easy to please because she likes just about everything she’s given, but I’m still stressed because I want to make sure she loves and plays with her gifts long after Christmas morning. Dress-up still remains one of her favorite playtime activities, so I knew she’d love the Mermaid Girl Dress-Up from Manhattan Toy ($40).
I was worried about the size because Emma is somewhere between size 6 and 7 right now and the dress-up is for 4-6. Luckily, it fits perfectly and if anything, the skirt has too much room. You adjust fit by tying the skirt at the back and I love that the top opens at the back with velcro closure. It’s so easy to get on and off without the struggle. Her favorite part of this outfit though is the seashell purse. This dress-up matches the Groovy Girls Maddie Mermaid so if you want to be a real rockstar, buy her to go along with the outfit!
As for Ryan, he is at that sponge-like stage and he is taking it all in. I’m finding him so easy to buy for because he loves all of the typical boy things. Trucks, animals and pretty much anything his big sister likes. But it’s important to me to get him things that will help him learn and feed his knowledge. Lately he loves setting up his stuffed animals and Emma’s dolls which is totally cute. When I saw the Dress Up Pirate ($30), I knew it was the perfect blend of what he’d love and what I was looking for.
The Dress Up Pirate, other than being utterly adorable as you can see, will also help teach little ones the ins and outs of dressing. Kids can practice using the button, zipper, hook and loop closure and tying his shoe. It’s no wonder this is an award winner.
One lucky reader will win the Mermaid Dress and the Dress Up Pirate!
There are two separate giveaways. Feel free to enter both if you’d like!
