In the last ten years, humans have become so well connected. We’re always within reach not only by phone, but by email, text and other messaging. In the past we’d take a chance on restaurants we hadn’t heard of when now I’d never dine anywhere without first reading the yelp reviews. We are on top of so many different things in our towns and cities, so it only makes sense that we know what’s going on inside our own home.

This winter I’ll be adjusting my home’s temperature when I’m heading home so that I can walk into a warm, toasty house.

 

I also like that the Nest tracks your energy usage and provides conservation tips. It also monitors your heating and cooling units and will alert you if something is not working properly. It’s like having a pal house sit for you – only it doesn’t feed the cats.
