This time last year, I had a bad reaction caused by my contact lenses. I woke up one morning with my eyes tearing uncontrollably, feeling very dry and extremely sensitive to light. I didn’t know what was wrong, but I knew it had something to do with my contact lenses. Even though I had been wearing this same brand for over a year, they had been bothering me in recent weeks.
When I got in to see my eye doctor, my eyes were so severely infected that she didn’t even want me to put my lenses in to check the fit. She was interested in treating the infection, and then we’d see if contacts were an option for me anymore.
I used to be nearsighted, but over the years my eyesight has worsened so much that I cannot see near or far. I’m completely dependent on my contacts, because I cannot wear glasses daily. It’s just something I am not able to get accustomed to. With my eye problems, I had no choice. I was forced to wear eyeglasses for over a month until my eyes healed.
After I was finally all better, I was very eager and yet skittish about putting contact lenses onto my eyes again. Understandably.
I was so happy that my eye doctor, who is an actual doctor and not just an optometrist, presented an option that she felt would work for me: Daily contact lenses. She gave me a few pairs of Acuvue contacts to try, and I’ve been using them ever since. I’m not sure why or how they work, but they do.
What made me even more happy was that my supplier, www.1800contacts.com was willing to buy back my old, unopened lenses. They sent me a box to ship them out, and replaced them with the contacts that I was now using. How’s that for great customer service?
Have you ever had a bad reaction from wearing the wrong contact lenses?
