A few months ago I had my very first massage. It was kind of a nightmare with this male masseuse who acted rather creepy the entire time. When I received a save voucher for one complimentary hot stone massage at Everlasting Spa in Cherry Hill I had to give it another go.
At first glance, Everlasting Spa looked like a no frills place. The storefront is part of an old strip-mall, which are very common in New Jersey, suitable for a coffee shop but unusual for a spa. There was a small bakery to its right and a shoe shop to the left. I didn’t have high hopes for this experience, but I reminded myself to not judge a book by its cover, and headed for the door.
Once I stepped inside, it had a completely different feel. There was a lovely accessories boutique in the front with jewelry, purses, scarves and the like and it was decorated perfectly. I started to have more confidence, but understandably, I was still a little nervous about the massage part.
This time I had a female, Linda, and she instantly made me feel comfortable when I entered the room. She introduced herself and gave me a quick overview. It was heavenly. The hot stone massage was very relaxing, but had some deep tissue massage worked in as well (I am sore today). My favorite part was in the beginning when she straightened my neck with a warm towel. I so needed that! It didn’t incorporate as much hot stone as I’d have preferred, but every place does it their own way. I would definitely go back again.
And while the hot stone massage is regularly $90.00, through Eversave it was only $45.00. Unheard of for a one hour intensive massage. At that price it’s very affordable. Just remember to tip your masseuse on the regular amount – they work hard and deserve every penny.
