When my oldest was at the appropriate age to be read to, she flipped through the pages before I could read each one. It drove me crazy! At one point, I thought she’d never want to be read to or be interested in reading herself. My have times changed. Now at age 7 she looks forward to our reading time before bed, and she and her brother adore the Elephant and Piggie series by Mo Willems!
Emma for one loves this easy to read and funny series. It’s about the friendship between the two characters and it explores issues that young children can relate to.
We adore Mo Willems’ Pigeon series and the kids already have The Thank You Book which was just released this Spring. Not Again! by Mac Barnett, Always Lots of Heinies at the Zoo by Ayun Halliday, and Because I’m Your Dad by Ahmet Zappa. He is also the creator of Disney’s animated hit The Replacements. Dan lives in Southern California with his wife, two kids, and two dogs.

My 2 year old granddaughter loves it when her mommy reads to her. I think these books would be so great for her.

My 7 year old still loves the elephant and piggy books! They are very easy to read. I would like this for my almost 4 year old though, he would like the toys too.
