Delicious pecan sandies with a pecan thumbprint.

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • handful halved pecans
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Whip together the butter and sugar with a fork.
  3. Stir in the vanilla and the chopped pecans.
  4. Shape the cookie dough into a ball and wrap in wax paper.
  5. Place in the freezer for about 20 minutes to chill.
  6. Roll into 1-inch balls and spread out onto a greased or lined cookie sheet.
  7. Firmly press a pecan half into each ball.
  8. Bake for 10 minutes.
