Small Batch Pecan Thumbprints

- ½ cup unsalted butter
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup chopped pecans
- handful halved pecans
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Whip together the butter and sugar with a fork.
- Stir in the vanilla and the chopped pecans.
- Shape the cookie dough into a ball and wrap in wax paper.
- Place in the freezer for about 20 minutes to chill.
- Roll into 1-inch balls and spread out onto a greased or lined cookie sheet.
- Firmly press a pecan half into each ball.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
