Are you worried about the summer slide? I remember as a kid having anxiety about starting a new school year. I worried about whether I’d remember what I learned last year and be able to keep up with the new material? Now that I am a parent, I am concerned for my own child.
We have been practicing site words and working on our reading skills. I’ve found that it helps to find material that your child is really interested in to encourage a love of reading. Most people are familiar with Scholastic books, whether it’s from our own childhood or the school book fair. This publisher has produced so much great quality reading material; many of our favorites are Scholastic.
I was excited to find out that I can add to my kids’ library for free with Kellogg’s® Family Rewards simply by buying the products we already purchase each week at Walmart. We eat a lot of Kellogg’s cereal and the first thing we picked up was a delicious box of Kellogg’s Frosted Mini Wheats. We also stocked up on Rice Krispies Treats®.
Once we opened the packages, we found special rewards codes printed inside. I created a Kellogg’s Family Rewards Account online. It was so easy to do, and after filling in my personal information and answering a quick survey, I was able to enter in my reward codes.
One single box Kellogg’s products = 1 book that you can either redeem for yourself or donate to a child in need. And to make the process even easier you can even text in your reward codes. Consumers may also buy online at Walmart.com and receive a free book on each eligible item purchased between 7/21/15 and 9/11/15 by upload the receipt via text, scan or Kellogg’s Family Reward app.
Each person is able to redeem up to 30 books, and the official timeline for book arrival is 6-8 weeks although in most cases the books arrive much sooner. There are great titles to choose from in the beginning reading section. The Clifford and Peppa Pig books caught our attention most. We can’t wait until our new books arrive at our doorstep!

I have always been a huge fan of Scholastic books. I know my kids would love the Clifford the Big Red Dog books. I think those will be the ones that I would choose

This sounds like a great program. My kids loves keloggs. I really like the idea of free books for kids and this would definitely encourage them to read. Will definitely check this out for sure. Thanks a lot for sharing it.
