DIY Scooby-Doo Backdrop for the new PLAYMOBIL® Scooby-Doo! Toys at Walmart

Jeepers! The new PLAYMOBIL® SCOOBY-DOO! Toys are now available at Walmart and it’s the most fun I’ve had all year. Seriously, this set was so much fun to build with none of the frustration that usually comes with building some other toys. Hover over the photo above to purchase toys at Walmart.

But before I get into that, I just want to point out that the new PLAYMOBIL® SCOOBY-DOO! Toys are available first at Walmart. No other stores carry them yet! So get in your car and head over to your nearest Walmart for a surprise your kids, and maybe even your husband will love! It’s exciting when beloved characters from your own childhood make a comeback and now that you have kids, there’s an excuse to play with them. :)

Lately, we’ve been trying to minimize screen time and encourage the kids to play with their toys. Studies show that children who engage in imaginative play benefit by developing cognitive, social and emotional skills.

The entire family got in on the fun putting together the PLAYMOBIL SCOOBY-DOO! Toys. I was amazed at all of the details that were put in to the Mystery Machine, I mean this thing even has a hitch on the back and there are mini snacks for the mystery-solving five-some.

The Mystery Machine comes with assembly instructions and also a guide to all of the characters. Velma, Daphne and Fred are included. The team was complete once we assembled the Scooby & Shaggy with Ghost kit.

We decided to make our very own Scooby-Doo scene so that the kids could role-play to create and solve their very own mysteries with the toys.

Make your own DIY play scene

Supplies:
cardboard box
construction paper
glue stick

Step one

The first step is to cut off one side of the box. Remove flaps too if desired.

Step two

Next, cut construction paper to fit and cover all sides using the glue stick.

Step three

We searched the internet to get our creative juices flowing and ultimately decided to add catch phrases from the show to our playset in addition to the stickers that were included with the kits.

I think it turned out really great! Kids love to be creative and use their imaginations, so let them decide what goes where. With any luck, they won’t need to solve the mystery of the missing tablets any time soon!

Well done! My daughter often makes her own furniture and backdrops for her Barbies. Play mobile toys are so fun. My kiddos do loved them.

Kids toys are a WHOLE NEW WORLD TO ME – I am terrified to dive into that world when my son gets older and starts wanting toys!

This is a cute little craft. I love it. So simple and definitely something I have done before. I remember building things like this when I was small.

I also support this kind of playtime. It would be best for a growing child to use their imagination and engage in creative/imaginative play. It helps them so much with their overall development.

Scooby Doo is a classic and it is so nice to see that it is still loved by kids today. I will have to show this to my nieces and nephews and take them to Walmart.
