Yesterday we slowly recovered from the aftermath of Christmas. We put away the dishes, opened and organized gifts and watched a movie. It was a great day to stay in your pjs. Then I remembered that we had tickets to see Disney On Ice – time to get dressed! I personally was so excited as I’d never attended a Disney on Ice presentation, and I decided to keep our adventure a surprise until we arrived at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
We parked, stalked the toys in the lobby and bought snacks before we found our seats. I highly recommend getting there an hour early because the time whizzes by and you don’t want to miss a minute of Disney On Ice. As a family, we were all blown away.
The focus was on classic Disney characters like Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and all of the Princes and Princesses with other characters like The Mad Hatter and Pinocchio thrown in. They told stories of love, celebrated the holidays and featured villains that all of the kids in the audience helped to scare away.
I really loved the fantasia brooms act. At the intermission, Ryan was starting to get tired and antsy. His favorite Toy Story pals – Buzz, Woody, Jessie, Rex and Hamm made their appearance just in time and his eyes were peeled. They really saved the day.
The figure skating was amazing and fun to watch and the Disney character aspect made it that much more special. There were amazing theatricals which really made the show special from lighting, to sparklers, and even snow during the finale. We had such a wonderful time that we can’t wait to return next year.
Disney On Ice Let’s Celebrate is in town through Jan. 5th. For a special $10 off coupon and full show schedule for the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, click here.
Disclosure: We were provided with a family 4-pack of tickets to see and review the show.
