It’s a new year, a fresh start and time to re-focus our energies. There are many things on my list of to-dos this year, but I’m specifically going to be focusing on home decor. We have been living in our home for over 7 years and we have barely decorated. There are a few photos here and there and some art but we have a lot of ground (err walls) to cover. Then we went ahead and created more blank walls by finishing the basement. Vinyl wall art is a favorite of mine, so I was excited to hear from the people at Wise Decor.
We have a few sayings here and there inscribed on our walls throughout the house. However as I mentioned above, I am looking to fill areas so I wanted to choose something substantial that would take up a decent amount of space in an aesthetically pleasing way.
Ever since I started seeing “House Rules” art in stores, I have wanted to add something similar to my own home. I just wasn’t particularly fond of the mass-produced look of the art I came across, and I wanted something different. I had planned on creating my own, but just didn’t have the time and energy required to take on a project like that. Then I saw the Scripture House Rules 2 decal and I knew I had to have it. I went with the large 24″ wide decal (there is also an 18″ format) and I’m so glad I did. The typography is very pretty, I was able to customize the colors, and it fills up a good bit of wall space in our basement.
The decal was very easy to install and came with instructions and a burnishing tool. This particular decal was shipped in three panels and they came with crop marks to help you line them up. I think it turned out beautiful! In the same area where I added the house rules decal, I also have photo collage on the left and plans to add more framed family photos on the right. The decal helps visually break up the wall area so it’s not so frame-heavy.
There are many other designs to choose from ranging from script to images and decals appropriate for any room in the house. I like the chalkboard decals for organization and I’ll be back to shop for the kids’ playroom decals soon. What Wise Decor wall decal would you choose?
