Anyone who has ever tried to lose weight knows that finding substitutions for old guilty pleasure is essential part of dieting success. I never really had a sweet tooth until after I had kids, but now I crave something sweet after eating a savory meal. Unfortunately in the world we live in, dessert is not really something you can indulge in often when you’re watching your calorie intake.
Greek yogurt is one of my favorite things to enjoy as a snack or a meal when I want something that’s tasty and helps me feel full thanks to to all of that protein. Sometimes I add a little bit of honey, reduced fat peanut butter, or granola. I’m never left unsatisfied or wrought with guilt after eating greek yogurt, so as you can imagine I I heavily rely on it when I’m in get-healthy mode.
Recently we received a package filled with several containers of Dannon® Light & Fit® Tiramisu Flavored Greek nonfat yogurt. Tiramisu yogurt is a flavor I’d never heard of before, so I was eager to try it, and so was my 6-year-old daughter. Who could resist this?
Those living a healthy lifestyle will love reading this label which lists 12 grams of protein, 80 calories and 0% fat per 5.3 oz. I’ve enjoyed this treat for breakfast, lunch, snack, and even as an accompaniment to my dinner. It is super creamy and delicious alternative to Tiramisu without all of the empty calories.
The Dannon® Light & Fit® Tiramisu Flavored Greek nonfat yogurt is great all by itself. But if you wanted to make a modified tiramisu, you could make a great alternative by laying the yogurt chocolate angel food cake. Or an even healthier idea would be to make these frozen yogurt blueberries. These are the kind of food hacks that have helped me lose weight in the past, but mostly I enjoy eating the new yogurt all by itself.
I saw the frozen yogurt berry idea somewhere else and wanted to make some, but I forgot. I need to save it this time so I will remember :)
I probably would not. I am more of a plain yogurt gal, the less additions, the healthier. I don’t mind fruit added to yogurt, but beyond that it’s not as healthy anymore. Used to love dannon! I think it’s great they come up with interesting flavors, I know plenty who enjoy them-!
I love Dannon yogurt. I haven’t tried this flavor yet – it sounds good!
Uh, yes! I would totally try this yogurt! What an awesome way to get the tiramisu flavor without all the calories!
