Another great toy I found at the toy show was this fantastic new product from an old favorite, Crayola. The Digital Light Designer takes drawing to a whole new level.
Kids can make their own digital pictures in all different colors using the stylus, but that’s only the beginning. You can also add special effects, and even save and later animate your drawings to play on a rotation. It’s like a digital photo frame met an art gallery and had a baby.
I love that the stylus has a special spot on the side to keep it with the globe. As long as I can convince my daughter to replace it when she’s done, we’ll be able to find it here when we need it.
Now this toy requires quite a few batteries as many toys do – both in the globe and the stylus. So imagine my surprise when I saw this a/c port and couldn’t find the plug that it should work with. That’s because it has to be purchased separately for around $13. To be completely honest, as a consumer this annoyed me.
Crayola’s Digital Light Designer has received the Best Toy Award, Gold from The Oppenheim Toy Portfolio and also Family Fun Magazine’s Toy of the Year Award.
Buy it at the Crayola Store for $49.99. Take advantage of the current cash back offer.
Disclosure: I received a complimentary sample to facilitate this candid review.
Ok, now that is pretty cool! I know for a fact that my boys would love it.
That is just the coolest thing! The shape is part of the fascination!
