Emma and I had a lot of fun yesterday making crafts with five different Crayola products. We used colored pencils, markers, glitter glue slick and model magic. With Christmas just about one week away, our focus was on all things holiday.
First we made an ornament from the model magic. Combing through our junk drawer I found a few balloon holders. They were the perfect size and even had a loop for hanging, so we decided to cover the plastic balloon weight with the clay. Clay will adhere to wood, glass, plastic, —. Applying it to plastic gave it some rigidity and the built-in loop really helps with hanging. Emma and I used red clay to coat the object, and then we rolled black clay into balls and antennae/legs until we finished our ladybug ornament.
Next, we decorated butterfly shapes. We colored one set with the colored pencils and then added the glitter glue. We need to buy glitter glue in bulk by the way because it is AWESOME. All the glitter you need minus the glittery mess. You can also actually glue things with this product but we didn’t want to cover any of that pretty glitter. I think we’ll punch a hole at the tops of our butterflies and hang them on the tree! Emma later decorated more butterflies with the markers.
Finally, Emma decorate Grandma’s birthday gift bag with the sick sticks which are somewhere between a crayon and pastels. It has a very smooth texture and gives off rich and bright color – simply beautiful. This may be my favorite product in the bunch.
