Since my hairstyle doesn’t require frequent cuts, I don’t make it to the salon very often. When I do have an appointment, I look forward to the adult conversation, the pampering, and discovering fancy hair products.

While I have a lot of hair, it is extremely fine. If I don’t use a great clarifying shampoo for my hair, it literally falls flat. That extra buildup weighs me down – not very flattering. There are products I like that work, but they lack that special salon-quality feel. I want that luxurious-smelling shampoo but it must serve its purpose too.
I’ve been looking for that combination of great quality and function my hair requires, so I couldn’t wait to try the BUILD thickening shampoo by Coy. It may sound silly, but the brand’s name really appealed to me. I knew there would be some type of herbal quality to it.
It smells amazing. Sure enough, Coy shampoo is scented with Chinese herbs. It’s not overly strong, fruity or floral. It just smells…pretty. A shampoo/conditioner set’s scent is important to me. I don’t wear perfume often, so my hair needs to smell good.
It’s got sass. I get excited about new hair products and tend to read the label in the shower. Well I laughed out loud when I read the Directions: “Seriously? It’s shampoo-you know what to do. Wet hair, wash hair, rinse and do it again if you want.” When you think about it, it is kind of funny how all shampoo bottles include directions – Right?
It works. I wanted to test out the shampoo and conditioner products based solely on them, so I styled my hair without using any other product like mouse. I was pleasantly surprised with how much body my hair had after the blow-dry.
