Cirque Dreams for the Holidaze

By Heather

Wow. That’s all I can say about the most recent show we took in at Merriam Theater. This was my family’s first Cirque show and it did not disappoint. I’m amazed at the talent of all who made this performance what it was – beyond amazing!

The Merriam theater is over 100 years old and just a spectacular space for shows. I took my daughter here to the Sound of Music a few years back. Seating is cramped, but you can enjoy great views of the stage from practically any seat.

Cirque Dreams: Holidaze is part of the Family Discovery Series, sponsored by Santander. The show is great for the entire family. (Recommended for ages 5 and older.)

The show features 20 of the best circus acts including an incredible contortionist, acrobats, jugglers and much more with stunning costumes and scenes complemented by Broadway singers who perform original music along with a new twist on seasonal favorites such as “Deck The Halls,” “Winter Wonderland,” and “Jingle Bell Rock.”

Tickets are on sale now and start at $40.00. Tickets can be purchased by calling (215) 893-1999, visiting www.kimmelcenter.org, or at the Kimmel Center Box Office. Group sales are available for groups of 10 or more and can be purchased by calling (215) 790-5883. Hurry, because the show is only in town until December 29th!

I’ve always wanted to take my son to see this type of show. He would enjoy it based upon our recent trip to watch a live Christmas play at church.

This appears to be a show well worth the ticket price. My entire family would enjoy it, I believe.
