Thank you to Hershey for providing park passes and accommodations.
We had planned on visiting Hershey Park over the summer, but we just couldn’t make it happen. Instead, we had the opportunity to explore Hershey during the “Christmas season”, on the very first day of Hershey’s Candylane! We have visited during summer once, and then last year during Hershey Park in the Dark. Both were tons of fun, but it was great to have a different experience this time around.
When we first arrived, the check-in line at the Hershey Lodge was quite long so we handed our bags over to the concierge and went straight for the park which was just about ready to open. One of the very first stops we made was to see the big man himself. The kids made sure to fill in Santa on their wish list.
The decor around the park was festive and fun. We hit up some of our favorite rides. The roller coasters, FYI were not in operation due to the chilly weather, but my kids don’t do roller coasters, so it didn’t change the experience for us.
For the first time, we went for a ride on the Kissing Tower. I’m not sure why we didn’t do this before This slow elevator style ride gives everyone from Kisses to Jolly Ranchers a breathtaking vantage point above hershey with sweeping views from the Hershey hotel to the park grounds and downtown Hershey.
The highlight for me though was the Christmas show, A Music Box Christmas. It was like seeing a broadway show right in the middle of the park and it was fun for our entire family.
When the sun went down, we really got to see the park glow. We loved Santa and his reindeer up on one of the roller coasters – coupled with the supermoon!
All day long the kids were asking to go to the water park, so we decided to head over to The Hershey Lodge for dinner and to check in to our room.
The lodge was decorated beautifully and our room a welcome respite from a busy day of driving and walking through the park.
But we were not done with our day yet. It was time to head downstairs to Water Works, the new indoor pool complex at Hershey Lodge. It features a large pool with a walk-across, two toddler play areas and large indoor/outdoor slides for the bigger kids. What a fun weekend we had – don’t miss Hershey’s Candylane!

My family and I have been planning on going to Hershey Park. We can finally go as we have a better car that can make the trip. It looks beautiful at night with all lights and decorations.
