I think it’s pretty well known around here that Emma is my little baker’s apprentice. Her favorite thing to bake, of course is brownies. Doesn’t everybody love brownies?
One problem we always tend to have with our brownies is that they are difficult to slice – especially when we make the “low fat” version. They fall apart and the edges crumble; not exactly a great presentation when serving our guests.
Then I saw this Slice Solutions brownie pan from Chicago Metallic. I’ve always been wanting to try one of those edge brownie pans, and this one looked promising. Plus it comes with a lid which is great for storage or traveling.
When it arrived, I loved the idea pictured on the cover to individually decorate/top each brownie differently. This would be lots of fun for a birthday party, or any gathering really.
There is a base pan, and then a tray that lays over it. You just place the tray into the pan…
…and then after pouring in the batter, you add the “slicer. Here it is, ready to go into the oven.
The finished product – tada! I am so happy with how they came out. The pre-slicer makes each slice almost an edge brownie. When we served a guest, she thought they were store bought because they looked so perfect!
The instructions say to use two brownie boxes for a nice and thick brownie, but for the first time I just used one. They came out great, but next time I will double the recipe for a nice thick brownie. This will work out great not only for brownies, but for other baked treats too like rice crispy treats, mini cakes and muffins.
How much? The Chicago Metallic Slice Solutions Brownie Pan sells for $32.99.

It’s hard to cut brownies neatly, so this is a cool idea!
