I’m beginning to think my daughter has a future career in music. Or dancing. Or theater. Let’s just say she loves to perform.
With her love of all things music, we’ve come to realize that she loves a variety of songs. This may have been encouraged by our nighttime playlist of songs from Rockabye Baby CDs, ranging from Journey to Guns N’ Roses to Madonna.
Most recently, Caroline loves the new CD from Charity and the JAM Band, Family Values.
The newest release from San Francisco’s award-winning family rock sensation Charity and the JAMband, Family Values takes the listener on a magical and spiritual journey through in-your-face rock n’ roll epics, heart-opening acoustic love-anthems, and joy-filled sing-alongs.
This Family Values CD is all about variety. I would say this CD is split between true rock songs and lovely ballads. Caroline, my husband, Jeff and I were definitely fans of the rock songs. Jeff is the rock fan in the family and had fun spotting some rock elements in the songs – apparently the track Family Values has some Rage Against the Machine-type riffs and some of the sounds in other songs reminded him of Joan Jett. Caroline just loved jamming in her carseat.
All in all, it’s a welcome departure from the cartoon songs we listen to on the TV. It’s hard to put the radio on nowadays as so many of our favorite songs have lyrics inappropriate for toddlers. It’s nice to have a CD in the car we can all enjoy.
Pre-Order the Family Values CD here for $15 – November 6th release date.
