Bon Home Heat & Dry Dish Rack (Review)

We banished the traditional dish rack from our kitchen years ago.  It didn’t fit enough dishes properly and the water would collect and cause mildew.  It just became another thing to clean.  Certainly not an item that made our lives easier. 

All this time, we’ve been covering our countertops with dish towels to absorb the moisture from wet dishes, baby bottles, pots and pans, etc.  Mostly items that can’t go in the dish washer.  That didn’t go so well either, and we have broken a few dishes with this method.  Plus it took so long for everything to dry.

I was delighted to see the Heat & Dry Dish Rack from Bon Home.  It’s basically a hairdryer for dishes.  Push a single button and in 10 minutes, the dishes are dry.  It is so quiet, that no one will even notice it’s on.

Sometimes I even use it to finish off the drying process that my dishwasher didn’t quite succeed at.

The metal racks within are great for fitting dishes and bowls, but they’re completely removable when you need to fit larger pots or casserole dishes.  The utensil panel can also be attached and detached but I haven’t found a reason to take it off.  They’re very useful – especially the slotted knife holder.  There will be no more worrying about a knife falling from the counter!

So where does all that excess water go?  To a compartment just below the on/off button.  The tray can be removed and dumped, avoiding any chance of developing mold and mildew.
