Bissell Little Green Proheat Spot Cleaner to the rescue!

By Heather

After my husband and I got married and we started furnishing our new home together, we were often advised by friends not to get anything too nice. Just wait until you have kids, they’d say. Well now we know what they meant. Children are messy; God love ’em.

The Little Green Proheat Spot Cleaner from Bissell has been saving one rug after the next since entering our home. Truly.

When it first arrived there had been a section of carpet in our bedroom by my vanity where Emma had spilled a container of dark brown mineral eyeshadow all over our ivory carpeting. I was pregnant and lazy so after vaccuuming I let it sit there for a few weeks – until after I had the baby – before I addressed the mess. Plus it was the perfect way to try out the Little Green. I was amazed with the results.

The mess:

After the Little Green treatment:

There are two Little Green machines by Bissell. The original Little Green, and Proheat Spot Cleaner that I tested. This one uses heated cleaning power with the original Deep Reach™ cleaning technology. I’m sure the key to how well it cleans is the heating mechanism, which will heat your hot tap water up to 25 degrees to effectively remove stains.

All you have to do is fill the tank with a small amount of Bissell cleaning fluid and a lot of water and turn on the machine to start the heating process. Then it’s as easy as pressing the button shown above to spray the stain, and vacuuming the area to remove the stain and the water mixture.

It’s a compact and easy way to clean carpets and upholstery, though I’ve only used it on carpeting thus far. My toddler has a knack for spilling and not telling me right away and this machine has had no problems removing dried play-doh, yogurt, makeup or milk. I don’t know how I ever got by without this machine; it may be little but it’s mighty powerful indeed.

How much? The Little Green Proheat Spot Cleaner is available direct from Bissell for $99.99.

It really is a superb little machine and in fact we’re looking to post our own review of this little gem in the next few weeks.

Really nice blog and quality article by the way Heather :)
