These are my faves regardless.
My family adores Netflix; we have been subscribers for years. The kids love having their own profiles and I can control what they see by restricting the content their eyes can see. Dad and I don’t often watch the same shows and movies, so it’s helpful to have our own individual spaces where we can watch what we like and receive recommendations. Recently I was asked to join Netflix’s exclusive stream team – an invitation I’d been hoping for over the past couple of years. Getting this delivery was a dream come true!
In the past I used Netflix primarily for movies, but lately, I’ve been getting into the television series. Netflix has both it’s own productions and television series available for those of us that missed it the first time or simply want to rewatch. I’m not one for waiting, especially when it comes to television shows. When I have to wait a week, sometimes more for the next episode to air I tend to forget the details and at times I lose interest altogether. Binging is one of the many perks of the Netflix service and I’ve been doing a lot of that lately. I’ve compiled a list of a few television series that I enjoyed. I’ll save the Netflix Originals for a separate post.
Binge-worthy television series on Netflix
Hell on Wheels
This is one of my most recent binges. Hell on Wheels is based in the post Civil War era when the first transcontinental railroad was built. I’ve never been one for a western show or film, but this one is different. It doesn’t hurt that the lead character is easy on the eyes, but the story is incredible and definitely worth a watch, especially if you ever dreamed about traveling back in time.
Game of Thrones
I finally got on the GOT bandwagon. There’s tons of violence and blood and guts so this show is not for everyone, however the storyline is quite interesting. It’s different from regular shows that retain it’s main characters. This show keeps you on your toes and leaves you wanting more. This HBO series is a fantasy story based in medieval times with its characters playing a deadly game for control of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, and to sit atop the Iron Throne.
LOST
I started watching LOST when it aired on ABC. It’s still one of my favorite mysteries and there’s so much to the story that I’ve now forgotten that it’s worth a re-watch. It’s based on people involved in a plane crash and the crazy mysteries happening on the island on which they’ve been deserted.
Dexter
I’m still hoping for another series of my favorite serial killer. This show was difficult to watch at first, but the story was so good that I could not stop watching it. This HBO series follows Dexter Morgan who is a Miami-based blood splatter expert with a penchant for killing.
Outlander
I’m currently obsessing over when the season premier for Outlander will take place. While no longer streaming on Netflix, the previous two seasons are available on Netflix DVD. Get caught up on this exciting time-travel love story before the new season starts.
Next month I will go over my favorite Netflix Original Series. There are more incredible shows you should not miss. Until then, tell me:
These are some interesting shows. My kids are addicted to Game of Thrones. I will check out the other shows.
These all look like great shows. We do not have Netflix because our internet is limited but possibly some day.
I have heard about half of these shows. I am mostly intrigued by the Game of Thrones. I hope to be able to watch a few episodes some day.
I binge watched six seasons in a matter of days. That’s how good it was.
Wow, you must have really liked it! I think this show is pretty intense! I will try to find some willpower for it some time next month, hopefully, if I get some free time.
I haven’t seen any of these, but I do love Netflix! I just binge watched Last Man Standing and Young and Hungry.
I have heard of those two. Did you like them?
I loved them both.
Yes, yes and more yes! Lots of great shows on this list! You hit the nail on the head!
Thanks! I loved them all every last one of them. I’m always on the hunt for a great new show.
I’m actually binging Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I used to watch it when I was younger, but now I’m loving it even more.
I didn’t know it was on there but I loved Buffy and Angel.
I haven’t seen most of these at all. I did have Netflix for one month and watched that Breaking Bad a couple months back. It was pretty good but I wouldn’t have liked how slow it moved if I had to wait each week to see it.
That’s why I love Netflix. You get the entire season or season and watch at your own pace.
I watched Dexter and loved it. I have also binge watched House, Breaking Bad, and White Collar.
I need to check out Breaking Bad. Don’t like the concept but everyone says it’s so good.
My mom has been watching (FINALLY!) Lost! I didn’t realize Game of Thrones was on Netflix. I’ll have to let my husband know (he’s obsessed with the show.) I haven’t binge watched anything since the Gilmore Girls season was released in November!
I will always love LOST, even though not everything was explained in the end!
Right now, I’m binge watching Stranger Things. I know, I know. I’m late to the party. It’s SO GOOD!
Yes it is! I can’t wait for the second season. The kid that plays Dustin, Gaten Matarazzo, lives in our area.
