We received a complimentary meal and drinks. All opinions are ours.
Kevin and I don’t get out much, but when we do it tends to be the same few restaurants and if we’re lucky maybe a movie too. Last Saturday we were invited to dine at Bahama Breeze to experience their Reggae Fest. We’ve never had a meal there and the menu looked tempting with new limited time food and cocktail offerings.
The draw for me was the fun Caribbean style ambiance. Between the food an the entertainment (not to mention the hot and humid weather), we felt like we were on a tropical vacation from the moment we walked up to the hostess stand.
We were seated on the porch, where a live reggae band was playing covers with a reggae twist. It was very cool to listed to songs by the Beatles and other classic artists’ songs reggae-fied. The entertainment was top-notch and it added a fun flair to our evening. This was all part of Bahama Breeze’s Reggae Fest; On Saturdays until August 13th there will be live Reggae talent in each restaurant for a happy go lucky vibe to enjoy with the delicious fare.
We got started with a few cocktails including the Hibiscus Margarita and a Dark and Stormy. I also tried a mango jalapeno mojito.
Our server recommended the Firecracker Shrimp, buttermilk battered and crispy fried with Sriracha aioli so we went with his suggestion. We also ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Stack, premium jumbo lump crabmeat stacked high with chilled shrimp, avocado and fresh mango. Both were excellent.
For dinner Kevin decided on redfish with a mango sauce and I went with the new for Reggae Fest Taste of Jamaica platter which includes authentic Jamaican foods. It was something very different from the usual and we loved everything. This restaurant also worked very well around allergy concerns.
Lastly our server suggested that we share dessert instead of each ordering our own. We went with the Key Lime Pie and it was a yummy finish to a great meal. All in all it was a great time with a cheerful ambiance and tasty food and drinks. We can’t wait to return and maybe next time we’ll bring the kids.
To continue the celebration, Bahama Breeze is giving away a cruise for one righteous winner and a friend to the JamRock 5-night cruise to Jamaica. This Reggae Cruise line features live music lineups daily including Sean Paul, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Stephen “Regga” Marley, Toots and the Maytals. Starting July 1, guests can snap their best selfie at #ReggaeFest and upload their picture on social media using #ReggaeFest and #Sweepstakes. Guests can also register at SummerReggaeFest.com for a chance to win.
Wow! The food at Bahama Breeze looks delicious! My SO and I rarely go out too and when we do we always go to the same spots too. hehehe
By far one of my favorite restaurants. Although I haven’t tried their desserts yet. Going to give them a try next time.
I always love visiting different restaurants to try out delicious foods & Bahama Breeze sounds like something that would go well with me & my husband. I am in love with that Firecracker Shrimp & that yummy dessert so much!
Looks like a great place for a good meal. I love that there is live entertainment! It looks like so much fun and the food – awesome. I wish I could have some of that pie!
This is one of my sons favorite restaurants. We go at least one a month if not more. They have a great drink selection.
This looks like such a fun event! I cannot think of anything more fun than Reggae music and some adult beverages!
Oh this sounds like fun. Your dishes sounded really good and the music must have been great.
I’ve never been to Bahama Breeze before, but it looks like a great place. I love that themed fest, and the food looks amazing.
