My serving bowls lately have become scarce. Over the years, they’ve cracked, chipped or broken and I needed some new ones, especially in larger sizes. I tended to use my mixing bowls for serving too, so I suppose I am partly to blame.
I’m a sucker for kitchen gadgets, so when I was contacted by Architec Housewares I took my time looking through their products online. Since I had bowls on the brain I expressed interest in checking our either the Polyflax or Polypaper bowls from the Eco Smart™ line. What I got was a little of both.
The Polypaper serving bowl is made from translucent recycled plastic with suspended pieces of paper. Isn’t that awesome? Not only is it recycled material that has been repurposed and made into something useful, but it’s also completely durable. As a parent with young children, I’m a fan of products that are harder to break. It’s available in white also, but this pretty blue will be perfect for upcoming Spring and Summer parties. This bowl is $29.99.
If you’re interested in a more subtle recycled look, go with the Polyflax. The Polyflax spoons arrived in my favorite color, but I don’t see green available on the website anymore. Only brown or red at the moment. I can’t wait to use my spoons with paper bowl. A set of two spoons is $10.99.
I didn’t realize it until now, but we already owned another Architec Housewares product – the recipe rock. It’s a nifty little tool for the kitchen, useful for when you’re cooking or baking according to a written or printed recipe. It doesn’t get much use anymore since I’m more of a paperless person.
I’m already looking at items I want to add to my kitchen next. The fact that these products are made in the USA sealed the deal for me.
That bowl is so pretty!
Looks like the perfect salad bowl!!
