Watching television isn’t necessarily the first thing that comes to mind when we’re talking about educating the kids, but let’s face it – kids like watching shows just as much as we do. I for one am tired of seeing my daughter watch mindless tv about nonsense. I suppose there’s a time and a place for that, too, but I’d prefer to kill two birds with one stone here. Why can’t a program be both entertaining and educational? You don’t see them very often, but we just discovered a cool new show that offers the best of both worlds with Amazon Studios’ new kids series, Annedroids.
Annedroids is a science-based live-action adventure about a young scientist and her annedroids (like robots but better). Actress Adrianna Di Liello plays one of the friends, Shania. She adds a silly/fun factor to the show which is super cute. Jadiel Dowlin plays the new kid in town, Nick, and after they meet Anne, played by Addison Holley, the real fun begins. With the help of her two new neighborhood friends, Anne powers up a brand new annedroid named P.A.L. The kids learn about science together, while P.A.L. learns from the young humans.
My five-and-a-half-year-old daughter Emma is right in the appropriate age group for Annedroids; it’s aimed for viewing by kids ages 4-7. As we watched the first seven episodes together, I saw how enthralled she was following along on the adventures of the children and the annedroids. Kids will learn about science in a fun way, outside of the classroom, and I love that the show features a female scientist. Anything that empowers young girls to embrace their smarts is a plus in my book.
It’s no wonder we love Annedroids; it was created by JJ Johnson, the same person who created Dino Dan which is another great show we enjoy watching. This is a must-watch for young kids, and I could even see children over 7 getting into this unique program. Annedroids is available now on Prime Instant Video. I would recommend this show for young minds that will enjoy making creative scientific discoveries right along with the shows’ characters. We loved it, and I think you will too, so check it out!
I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.
Sounds like an interesting show. My kids are too old to watch it but it sounds cool for younger kids.
Very cool! My daughter is still a bit young for this, but I will have to look into it!
I keep seeing this popping up in my amazon prime feed on my tv and I was wondering if this was a kids show. If they put it on youtube my son would be all over it. That kid never watch tv he just likes watching gaming videos now days.
We have Amazon Prime so will definitely check this out and see if my boys will like it. They aren’t that big into TV though, they’re more of the video game type. :)
Looks like a great Kids show! I love seeing Amazon making quailty TV for kids!
This looks interesting. I’m not sure I could get into this, but I think my kids would like it.
That freaked me out at first, but it grew on me after the initial incredulity LOL Very creative! I’ll bet I would have enjoyed it when I was young!
I’m still not much of a TV watcher despite all that I watched as a kid. Those annedroids look kinda creepy :P
Wow, this looks like. Very interesting series, I think my kids would be a little scared at first.
Oh, I was “that mom” pre-kids who was going to rarely let the kids watch TV. Then mommyhood reality set in … and I allow it much more than I ever thought I would. They are such little “addicts”!! LOL This looks like an interesting program. Didn’t know Amazon did anything like this!
