A Gluten-ous Family’s Take on Udi’s Gluten-Free Foods

By Heather

We are not a gluten-free family, but we still tried a few Udi’s gluten-free foods.  Some of you may be familiar.  While there are people who have allergies that require this type of diet, others choose this way of eating for the overall health benefits. We were just curious.

A package arrived with a few Udi’s foods including muffins, cookies, bagels and bread.  Of course the first product I tried were the snickerdoodle cookies.  They were fantastic, and I think it’s safe to say they were my favorite of all.  To me, they didn’t taste any different from a regular old cookie so I was surprised.

The blueberry muffins were another story – I wasn’t really a fan. They tasted a little on the soggy side. Maybe I should have warmed them in the microwave as suggested.

As a bagel lover, I thought the cinnamon-raisin bagels were not bad.  Obviously, they didn’t taste as great as the ones I am used to eating, but they were pretty decent.

The whole grain bread wasn’t too shabby either; we eat lots of whole wheat and whole grain normally.

Overall, we were impressed with Udi’s Gluten-Free Foods.  It wasn’t a surprise hearing that this is the #1 gluten free baked goods brand.  We’re not going to be making the switch any time soon, but it was fun trying something new and getting a better understanding of gluten-free foods.

Where to buy? Udi’s five most popular products, soft white bread, soft whole grain bread, plain bagels, chocolate chip cookies, and pizza crust are available in Walmart stores, so find a store near you.  You can also purchase through Udi’s website.
