We’ve had to do a lot of adjusting in the 2014-2015 school year. Emma’s in full-day kindergarten now which means that every day I have to pack her a lunch and a snack. It’s a daily struggle to find something that is both nutritious and edible in the eyes of my six year old. I want to win at snack time but it’s only a win if your child will eat it.
Both of my children are snackers, and of course they gravitate toward the junk food as kids do. Thankfully my children do enjoy eating fresh fruits, and I find that the more I offer it up as an idea, the more they ask for it so you can win at snack time by simply suggesting a healthy alternative.
Sometimes we need to have something fruity on hand with a longer shelf life. I like to keep Mott’s fruit snacks in my diaper bag and glove box for when the kids just have to have a snack and we’re on the go. Mott’s Fruity Centers and Mott’s Fruity Rolls are brand new products and the latest addition to our arsenal.
Whether packing school lunches in the morning or providing snacks for after-school activities, new Mott’s Fruity Rolls and Mott’s Fruity Centers are easy wins for mom. These new snacks fun for kids and made with the colors and flavors from natural sources that moms will also love.
These mini banana-oat bran muffins are a hit in my house and an excellent healthy snack that my kids love. They are very low in sugar so they rely on sweet bananas and raisins to give them that sweet flavor.
My cereal snack mix is another great option when the kids want something crunchy. I love that it’s packed with good for you cereal.
Ants on a log is another fun snack and it’s also packed with protein for getting over the after school slump. Kids love the idea of eating “ants”. That’s a win for everybody.
We serve lemon garlic hummus with fresh veggies, pita, or healthy chips. It’s loaded with protein and fiber and it’s one of our favorite healthy delicious dips.

I love ants on a log. I have been known to replace the raisins with an almond sliver or two. I am also a big fan of banana oat muffins. These look amazing!

I love hummus but have never ventured out pass the store bought ones. I would like to try your lemon garlic hummus. I think apples and peanut butter make a great snack too.
