5-hour ENERGY® Berry Colada Pick-Me-Up

By Heather

At around 3:00 each day, I fall into what I call the afternoon slump. I’m drained of all energy, and yet there is still so much to do. There’s dinner prep, cleanup time, and the kids want to play (or fight). My little secret to getting it all taken care of? An afternoon pick-me-up, like this Berry Colada Pick-me-up made possible by the inclusion of a 5-hour ENERGY® shot.

5-hour ENERGY® Berry Colada Pick-Me-Up #ThisIsMySecret

This makes a great alternative to coffee, especially on a hot, humid day like today. Each shot packs the same amount of caffeine as a single cup of coffee, but with the added benefit of B-vitamins, amino acids, and essential nutrients. When I drink coffee, I have to track the calories for my creamer, but 5-hour ENERGY® shots have no sugar or carbs and is only 4 calories total.

The other day, I picked the Berry flavor at CVS pharmacy. They were located in the back by the medicine, and not in the front of the store with the other drinks as I initially suspected.

5hour

You certainly can enjoy these all on their own, but I like to mix up my own concoctions and I did just that with this refreshing drink recipe. Chances are, you already have the other ingredients in your pantry or fridge.

  • One 5-hour ENERGY® shot (or 1/4 cup)
  • 1/2 cup light cranberry juice
  • 1/2 cup coconut water

Directions:

Combine all of the ingredients by shaking or stirring them together. Pour into your favorite glass and add the frozen berries. That’s all there is! Enjoy :)
