When my kids miraculously let me have control over the television (or during nap time), somehow I find myself landing on the Home Shopping Network. It’s not a channel I could
afford to sit and watch all day, but when I happen to flip the channel and see something I’m particularly interested in, the deals can’t be beat. People poke fun at shopping channels, but I really find it helpful to see a product in action to get a better feel that’s as close to shopping in store as you can get without actually leaving your home.
Of course you can still shop via HSN.com as well, and now even that experience is better than ever since their relaunch. They’ve integrated the network with social media like nothing we’ve seen before. You can see which items are most liked on facebook or most favorited.
Along those same lines, “The 20” is an innovative, first-of-its-kind feature enabled by integrating social media tools and customer input. In other words, you can take part by voting for your favorite products! But it’s not just for the fun of it; there is incentive for customers to take part because those who vote for the most popular item will be eligible to receive a discount on its purchase. How cool is that?
HSN’s platform has been streamlined to make it easy for shoppers to shop whether they’re using a PC or a smartphone. By connecting with the popular social media channels, they’ve created a platform for the way their customers like to covet, share and ultimately shop.
