We have partnered with the Netflix #streamteam.
When we first started subscribing to Netflix years ago, it was mostly for the movies. We’re not sure if the service had its own original series back then, but it’s definitely known for the incredible programs now. These are just a few of our favorites that we are up to date on and anxiously awaiting subsequent seasons.
If you’re a time travel genre fan like me, this is a must see original from Netflix. Special agents are sent to the 21st century from the future to change the past. These operatives take over other human bodies at their time of death, which is a unique spin on the concept of time travel. It was a really great first season and we can’t wait for the next.
I was never really a fan of X-Files, but Gillian Anderson’s performance was out of this world. Set in Northern Ireland, she plays the role of a special agent on the hunt for a serial killer living a double life. Viewers get to see both “hunters” in action, and it was so spellbinding that we could not stop watching.
Orange is the New Black
Are you one of the last few who have not yet seen this show? There is a reason why it’s Netflix’s most-watched original. It is such a raw, realistic look at prison life. I didn’t love the last season of OITNB as much as the first few, but I am eagerly anticipating the next.
The world has always been obsessed with British Royalty, probably due to how private the details of their lives are. This Netflix Original gives us a behind the scenes look at life behind the curtain for Princess Elizabeth turned Queen and her royal family.
An intense family drama involving deep-rooted secrets in an otherwise idyllic place in the Florida Keys. It follows Danny, the black sheep of the Rayburn family returns to his family home which is also happens to be an inn. There’s sex, drugs, murder and politics – this binge-worthy show has it all.
Probably the strangest show on our list is the OA. It’s a supernatural drama about a mysterious woman who was adopted as a girl and claims to be able to have survived death multiple times and who has experienced alternate realities. A must-see.
This is an engaging show that has an E.T. feel to it. It’s set back in 80s and definitely brings nostalgia for those of us who remember the decade, the clothes, bikes and decor. Winona Ryder does such an incredible job that you won’t even recognize her at first. It’s based on a boy who goes missing one night in Hawkins, Indiana.
