I’m going to go ahead and be completely honest here and tell you the truth. I’m really not that into football. While I look forward to fall and football season each year, the game is secondary. It’s the tailgating aspect of football that I enjoy. The chili, the finger foods, the wings. Oh how I love buffalo wings!
Wings at the Walmart Hot Deli counter are affordably priced, great quality, fresh, fast and convenient – perfect for an at-home football watch party or to pick up and bring to a tailgate. Wherever you’re watching the game, this is an easy grab and go option without having to spend a lot of money.
At the Walmart Hot Deli you can purchase a bucket of 20 wings in whatever flavor you choose for only $10. Flavors vary per store, but may include Buffalo, Hot, General Tso’s, Honey BBQ and Ranch. I snagged a bucket of boneless buffalo wings myself.
Buffalo chicken salad is one of my favorite meals of all time. The cool crunch of the romaine lettuce complements spicy buffalo wings so well. I wanted to create a finger food version of one of my favorite foods, and lettuce wraps are an easy way to do it. In the produce section I found these individually cut romaine leaves – just perfect!
Assembling these lettuce is wraps is easy. Just lay each leaf flat side down and top with one to two boneless wings (depending on the size of your lettuce leaves). Make a simple sauce from two tablespoons wing sauce with one tablespoon ranch dressing. Warm the sauce before drizzling over the hot wings and sprinkle with a crumbly feta or blue cheese.
These lettuce wraps can be enjoyed warm or room temperature. They’re delicious either way!
